Arsenal’s Premier League season went from bad to worse on Sunday night.

Mikel Arteta’s side slumped to a demoralising 2-1 defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium.

And in doing so, Arsenal enter the month of December in 14th place in the Premier League.

Only four teams have scored less than the Gunners’ 10 goals this season and it’s clear that a lack of creativity continues to undermine Arteta’s side.

Each and everytime that Arsenal fluff their lines in a game like this, without creating many chances, there’s a conversation about whether the Spanish coach was right to leave Mesut Ozil out of his plans this season.

The Germany World Cup winner hasn’t made a senior appearance for the North Londoners since back in March and it looks likely that he may never will again, with his contract up next summer.

It’s unclear whether Arsenal are missing Ozil or a player like Ozil, a playmaker who can carve out goalscoring opportunities for the other attacking players.

Raul Jimenez suffered a terrible head injury in a collision with David Luiz early on last night.

And Arsenal fans hijacked Ozil’s post about the Wolves forward to remind him how much the team need his quality again.
