Some Arsenal fans on social media have once again been speaking about Daniel Ek’s takeover after it was reported that Patrick Vieira is set to take over at Crystal Palace.
Ek’s takeover was reportedly set to be backed by Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Vieira, but now that the former Arsenal captain looks set to take over at Palace, this looks rather doubtful.
There would be a clear conflict of interest for Vieira if he was managing Palace while playing a part in an Arsenal takeover, so you’d have to imagine that he may not have involvement in Ek’s bid going forward.
As ever, Arsenal fans online have been fearing the worst, with many supporters theorising that Ek’s takeover is now dead in the water due to Vieira’s impending role at Palace.
Of course, whether or not Ek’s plans have been affected by this remains to be seen. The last we heard he was preparing a second bid to buy-out the Kroenkes at Arsenal, but it has to be said that this news about Vieira could affect his plans.
