Arsenal fans on Twitter are worried about Bukayo Saka’s fitness after he completed 90 minutes for England on Wednesday evening against Iceland.

The youngster hasn’t had much of a break this season, starting six Premier League games and playing all three matches for his country during the international break.

You can understand why he continues to get games, he’s been mightily impressive this season, with even some Tottenham fans praising him for his performance earlier this week.

Arsenal fans are worried that it’s just a matter of time before he picks up a muscle injury or burns out due to playing too much football.

You can understand why Gunners fans are so worried about him. We’ve seen Arsenal players ruined by injuries in the past, and the last thing anyone wants is for Saka to follow that trend.

Just look at Jack Wilshere, the midfielder was touted as one of the best young players on the planet during his teenage years, but now, aged just 28, he’s without a club.

Now, we’re not saying that Saka is headed for the same fate, but if he is overplayed at a young age, he could find himself having fitness problems further down the line as he puts his body through more wear and tear than is necessary.

Arsenal supporters weren’t happy that Saka was playing again for England, while some were calling for Arteta to give him a rest against Leeds this weekend.

The 19-year-old is obviously an incredible talent, but if he’s going to develop as everyone hopes he will, he may have to be managed a little more carefully than he is being at the moment.
