Some fans of yet another Premier League club are raving about the Sheffield United manager after losing to the Blades. Lys Mousset’s first-half goal gave United a deserved victory over Arsenal on Monday night, and increased the pressure on the Gunners boss Unai Emery.
In contrast, Chris Wilder’s stock has never been higher and continues to rise as his Sheffield United side continue to hold their own in the Premier League.
Wilder has taken his boyhood Blades from the middle of League One to ninth in the top flight since taking charge in the summer of 2016.
And this is what those of an Arsenal persuasion are saying about the 52-year-old Sheffielder on Twitter after their Bramall Lane reverse – echoing their Everton counterparts earlier in the campaign…
Wilder’s achievements are made all the more impressive by the many off-field distractions which have threatened to derail his cause these past few years.
In that time, the former Sheffield United player is understood to have shunned several advances to leave Bramall Lane and is now being rewarded for his loyalty.

But an approach from a club of Arsenal’s stature could yet turn Wilder’s head.
