Ajax supporters sent the vibes that they will now find it difficult to sign Steven Bergwijn after his stunning brace for Tottenham.

On Wednesday evening, Tottenham beat Leicester City 3-2 in one of the most dramatic finishes in Premier League history.

Bergwijn, who has been rumoured to be leaving Spurs during the January transfer window, came off the bench to score two stoppage-time goals to help his side to all three points.

When the clock was seconds away from hitting 95 minutes – of five minutes of added time – Spurs equalised against the Foxes.

Before Antonio Conte’s side put their foot on the accelerator again by scoring less than 20 seconds from kick-off, with Bergwijn providing the hero finish.

Understandably so, it resulted in utter carnage from the away supporters and the away dugout, as Spurs snatched one of the unlikeliest of wins.

But what does that now mean for Bergwijn and those rumours that Ajax want to bring him to Amsterdam this month?

There are some Ajax fans who feel that signing the quick-footed Dutch winger has now become difficult and he won’t possibly leave.

Whilst others think that Bergwijn’s price tag has just gone up a notch with those two goals from the bench.

Either way, Spurs will be more reluctant to let their winger go now and it will be interesting to see how they react if a strong offer was put on the table for his services.
