Gary Neville stated that Jamaal Lascelles‘ ability to get booked despite not playing during Newcastle United’s goalless draw against Arsenal on Tuesday night was ‘some achievement’, as he told Sky Sports Premier League.
In stoppage-time, as Arsenal had a throw-in deep in their attacking third, Lascelles was on the touchline still warming up when he proceeded to stand in front of the throw-in taker.
This was, of course, all to waste time, put off the opposition and help Eddie Howe’s side secure a valuable point on the road against the Premier League leaders.

Whilst Lascelles did delay Arsenal’s throw, he also received a yellow card for his actions from the on-field referee, Andy Madley.
What’s even more impressive about all of this is that the Newcastle United centre-back has been booked before for doing the same thing this season when he was punished against Chelsea.
Whilst Arsenal fans might not like it, those donning and repping Newcastle certainly will, as Neville saw the funny side to it all whilst on commentary duty.
“That’s some achievement,” laughed Neville. “I am quite proud of that.”

ANOTHER STEP FORWARD FOR NEWCASTLE
This is a point gained by Newcastle and a very well-deserved clean sheet against the best team in England right now.
Eddie Howe’s side maintained their current third spot in the Premier League table, but those teams behind them are breathing right down their neck.
Manchester United picked up their fourth win on the bounce in the Premier League on Tuesday against Bournemouth.
They are level on points (35) with the Magpies, but most importantly, they have played a game less.
