Tottenham’s Argentine star has clearly remained close friends with his former teammate.
Tottenham’s Erik Lamela in action
Former Spurs star Roberto Soldado has underlined his strong relationship with current Tottenham midfielder Erik Lamela by posting a picture on his Twitter account of the two on holiday in Formentera, alongside a couple of Argentina internationals.
Both were there alongside a player the Spaniard played with at club level, Ever Banega, who featured alongside Soldado at Valencia and also starred in this summer’s Copa America, while Lamela also seemed to be hanging out with Swansea defender Federico Fernandez.
Lamela and Soldado have previously emphasised their friendship, which has only continued despite the latter’s departure.
The Spanish striker may not have had the best of times in North London, but since moving to Villarreal he has consistently taken to social media to make it clear of his continued allegiance to Spurs and the club’s players.
He and Lamela were the club’s two most expensive acquisitions with the money received from Gareth Bale’s transfer to Real Madrid, and though Soldado started reasonably well, and Lamela struggled, as it turned out it was the Argentine that has proven himself, while the striker was sold last summer.
Spurs fans will be happy to see bonds created at the club that are still strong even though certain players have left, and many would wish the best for 31-year-old Soldado in the coming season.
