Former Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout is enjoying life in Serie A.
Veretout was sold in the summer to Fiorentina for £6.25 million, after spending last season out on loan.
He has made 16 starts for Fiorentina this season in the league, and scored three goals.
He is relishing his fresh start, and his agent says he is on his way to becoming a complete player.
Veretout’s agent Fabrice Picot told Tuttomercatoweb: “He really likes the city, the new club and the lifestyle. I think he has found his place in the world.
“Jordan had a fantastic start, but it’s certainly not new to me, he has great potential. He will soon become a more complete player than he already is.”
Veretout signed for Aston Villa from Nantes on a five year deal in 2015, but never really settled at the club.
His success in Italy is bittersweet, demonstrating that the club did do well to acquire such a talented player, but also puzzling that the various managers at the club did not succeed in maximising his ability.
It certainly seems like Veretout made the right choice in pushing for a move to play in Italy’s top flight, and that’s the problem, as soon as Villa were relegated, he decided he wanted out, giving the club little option but to move him out, on loan and then permanently this summer.
