Reported Everton and Leeds United target Amer Gojak could be sold by Dinamo Zagreb for about £5 million before the transfer window closes, his agent has told Calciomercato.

It seems Josko Gvardiol isn’t the only fresh-faced starlet to catch the eye of Leeds with his impressive performances in the Croatian capital.

SportSport reported earlier in the window the West Yorkshire giants were battling Everton, Besiktas, Hertha Berlin and Fiorentina for the signature of a man labelled the ‘new Luka Modric’ back home in Zagreb.

Gojak certainly has the vision and passing range of a young Modric and last season fired Dinamo to the Croatian league title with four goals and five assists from his favoured attacking midfield role.

And, after helping Gvardiol seal his long-awaited move to RB Leipzig, agent Andy Bara is looking to find another of his clients a new club in one of Europe’s major leagues.

“He can be sold for £5 million to £6 million and, after a year, he can be resold for £20 million,” Bara said, before suggesting Gojak would end up in Serie A, with Genoa one potential destination.

“He has many interested suitors in Germany but would prefer Italian football and we are close to a transfer. But the transfer market is unpredictable, everything can change in a short time.

“He is a player with a great future and I see him as perfect for Italian football because he is a player with great work rate that he combines with his quality.”

It’s no secret Leeds are still in the market for a forward-thinking, defence-splitting central midfielder with Gojak joining the likes of Erick Pulgar, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Bayern Munich treble-winner Michael Cuisance on a lengthy hit list.
