Everton fans may be left wondering if they’re a little unlucky given how some of their former players are performing at the moment.
Moise Kean is thriving at Paris Saint-Germain, and even Theo Walcott is enjoying something of a renaissance having re-joined Southampton on loan.
Elsewhere, John Lundstram is now a regular at Sheffield United and Kurt Zouma is impressing with Chelsea, but there’s one case that may just frustrate more than most.
Playmaker Nikola Vlasic joined Everton from Hajduk Split in 2017, but he was given just 19 games for the club before being loaned out and then sold to CSKA Moscow.
Since heading to Russia, the Croatian has been a star. The 23-year-old bagged 13 goals and seven assists last season, and is now in fine form again this term.
In his first 15 games of the season, Vlasic has racked up six goals and five assists, whilst he also has five goals in 17 Croatia caps and impressed against Portugal just days ago.
Vlasic will surely earn a big move elsewhere in the near future having dazzled with CSKA, so is there an argument for him to head back to Everton?

Everton do need another playmaking threat, as too much is pinned on James Rodriguez right now. Bernard and Gylfi Sigurdsson could move on in 2021, whilst Alex Iwobi has struggled to make an impact.
It may seem unlikely, but bringing back Vlasic now would make some sense; he has developed rapidly since leaving Everton, he has shown how creative he is, whilst he has the versatility to play out wide or as a number 10.
Marco Silva let Vlasic go, but Carlo Ancelotti would be wise to consider bringing him back to Goodison Park in 2021, in an attempt to solve the early reliance on Rodriguez.
