The ex-Newcastle United man is linked with Manchester United.

It’s probably fair to say that Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez knows what he’s doing in the transfer window.
Benitez led Newcastle to a 10th-placed Premier League finish last season in spite of working with a shoestring budget by Mike Ashley last summer and during the January window.
He is, however, only human and prone to mistakes in regards to transfers, and is it possible that he made a big one with Kevin Mbabu?
Mbabu left Newcastle to join Swiss outfit BSC Young Boys 12 months ago and, according to Fussball Info, the right-back has already attracted attention from Manchester United.

The 23-year-old, who did have a fair share of injuries during his four-year spell on Tyneside, suggested via The Chronicle that he would have stayed with the Magpies if “new opinions” were different.
It really wouldn’t be a good look for the Spanish manager if Mbabu returns to the Premier League and impresses under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Joining United would also suggest that he is worth quite a lot of money and although the amount that Newcastle received for him is not public knowledge, it’s difficult to imagine that Mbabu, who only had a year to run on his Newcastle contract, fetched a significant sum.
The Swiss defender, who only managed three league outings with Newcastle, did post some very promising performances at times, and maybe, just maybe, it will be considered a mistake by Benitez if he winds up at Man United.
