Former Leeds United captain Liam Bridcutt’s Nottingham Forest side take on his old club this weekend.

Unfortunately for Bridcutt, he is unlikely to be involved.

Sold by Leeds United last summer, Bridcutt’s role at Forest is increasingly minor.

He has struggled ever since Aitor Karanka took over as manager in January and has barely featured this season.

Bridcutt’s case has not been helped by Forest boss Karanka bringing in a high volume of players, including central midfielders Jack Colback and Claudio Yacob.

This season Bridcutt has played just one game in the Championship, which saw him come on as an injury time substitute against Rotherham on September 22.

He has not been involved since, with his only starts coming in the Carabao Cup last month.

There has been no place on the bench for the midfielder over the past few weeks, and it would be a surprise to see him recalled this coming weekend.

He would love nothing more than the chance to shine against his former club Leeds, but it seems he is unlikely to get a chance.
