Sol Campbell believes Arsenal will have an edge over Tottenham this weekend.
Former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Sol Campbell has told 888Sport that he believes the Gunners have the edge this weekend.
Campbell infamously left Spurs for Arsenal, becoming a hate figure among Tottenham fans.
Arsenal’s Sol Campbell
The former England international believes Arsenal will be able to pick Tottenham apart this weekend, and have the patience to do so.
He said: “Arsenal will be geared up for Spurs’ pressing because you cannot do that relentlessly all of the time, only five or ten minute spells. They will be concentrating on how to get past the second press and that’s where you open them up.
“Spurs have lots of mid-career stream guys with lots of energy who show and have desire. Arsenal are more measured and what I have noticed is their defence no longer goes into a trance due to the slow build-up in midfield. They now stay alert.
“Spurs are more frenetic and decisive whereas Arsenal are methodical and more sophisticated. They will look for the right moments.”

Tottenham are in fifth place in the Premier League while Arsenal are in second, but only three points separate the two teams.
Spurs have not won any of their last six matches, while Arsenal are in excellent form heading into the clash at The Emirates.

Campbell was part of Arsenal’s 2003/04 Invincibles side, which went through the Premier League season unbeaten to win the trophy.
Tottenham are this season’s only remaining unbeaten team after 10 games, but Campbell believes they should not focus on matching his old side’s achievements.
He added: “It’s much more difficult now…If you start thinking of it halfway through the season you actually forget about winning the league. You can lose the record and then lose momentum and I’d rather lose a game but then win the next game.”
