Former Tottenham defender believes the team are strong enough to push on with a title challenge.
Former Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Sol Campbell believes the current team are strong enough to mount a title challenge.
Spurs are second in the Premier League but remain seven points behind league leaders Chelsea.
Former England defender Sol Campbell
Speaking to SkySportsNews HQ broadcast on Thursday (19/1), and quoted by the Daily Star, Campbell says he believes there could be a twist still to come in the title race.
He said: “They’re solid at the back, fantastic in midfield and Harry [Kane] is banging in the goals. For me there are still four or five teams involved.
“If Chelsea go all the way in the next 10 games then they’ll win it. But Tottenham look strong and have a chance this year.”
Tottenham’s Dele Alli celebrates scoring their second goal
Tottenham won the recent match between the two teams thanks to a brace from Dele Alli in a 2-0 win, but Chelsea have quickly got back to winning ways, and have a comfortable fixture against Hull City this weekend.
Spurs have a much trickier match, travelling to Manchester City, who will be desperate to make up for their 4-0 mauling at Everton.
There could easily be a 10 point gap again between the two teams after this weekend, but if Spurs can knock off City then there will be even more admirers willing to believe in their ability to overhaul the Blues.
