Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur side were beaten for the first time by Watford this weekend.

Ex Arsenal player Sol Campbell looks on during the Emirates FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on May 27, 2017 in London, England.

Sol Campbell has suggested to the Daily Mirror that he believes Tottenham Hotspur will finish above Arsenal and in the top four this season.

Spurs lost for the first time this campaign at the weekend, when Watford beat them at Vicarage Road.

Tottenham looked lethargic on that occasion, and Mauricio Pochettino’s lack of options from the bench was evident.

Spurs failed to make one signing during the summer transfer window, and Pochettino did not have the attacking options required to change the tide of the match, when it started to go against his side.

But Campbell still thinks that Tottenham are ahead of Arsenal right now.

He said: “ Tottenham will be in the Champions League.

“They have got a strong enough squad, but Arsenal have to still get there while trying to nail down that playing out of the back. You can’t, straight away, say, ‘We are going to go out and play like Barcelona .’ It is not going to happen overnight.”

Finishing in the top four would be a great achievement from Spurs, considering Chelsea appear to be far stronger than they were last season.

Tottenham may not have made additions, but they still look to be a threat, and their victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford was highly impressive.

Spurs return to action after the international break when they take on Liverpool, in what looks set to be a thrilling encounter.
