Leeds United will be one of the favourites to earn promotion to the Premier League this season.

Sol Bamba has warned Leeds United that they must keep hold of Kalvin Phillips and Kemar Roofe this summer, as he lauded the ‘massive signing’ of Helder Costa.
The Sun previously claimed that Leeds were demanding £30 million for Phillips, who was attracting interest from newly-promoted Premier League side Aston Villa.
Whilst earlier on in the summer, Scottish Premiership side Rangers were seemingly keen on the services of Roofe, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
Speaking to Sky Sports News (31/07/2019 at 11:05 am), Cardiff City defender Bamba made it clear that Leeds need to keep hold of their best players and selling Roofe and Phillips will ‘change it all’.
“I think they need to keep their best players as well,” Bamba told Sky Sports News. “I know Kalvin Phillips has been linked with Aston Villa.
On losing Roofe or Phillips: “I think that’ll change it all. They are massive for Leeds. I think with the transfer window closing soon, if they don’t have the time to replace them, that’s going to be very, very difficult for them. I know they have the manager, but you still need good players.

On whether their transfer jigsaw is complete: “I would say nearly. Going forward they are very good. Helder Costa for me is a massive signing. Harrison coming back. Clarke as well. Going forward, they have everything. But I think at the back, they are a bit short.”
It would be a surprise to see either Phillips or Roofe leave at this stage of the summer, with the new Championship campaign kicking off this Friday.
Jonathan Woodgate’s Middlesbrough and newly-promoted Luton Town will lock horns in the opening fixture, with Leeds taking on Lee Johnson’s Bristol City on Sunday.
