Sol Bamba has claimed that Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is tougher to face than Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

Cardiff City centre-back Bamba came face-to-face with both players last season, as he lauded the quality both players have in their locker.

Both Aubameyang and Kane will come face-to-face themselves when Tottenham make the short trip to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking to Football Centre on Sky Sports News (28/08/2019 11:35 am), Bamba shared the strengths of both Aubameyang and Kane from his own personal perspective.

On Aubameyang: “I told myself not to give him any space and be physical [with him],” Bamba told Sky Sports News. “I know him personally and he doesn’t like that. He doesn’t like it when you are tight and when you are physical with him. He’s quick, powerful and he can use both feet, whether it’s coming inside or outside. You have to make sure you are very touch tight with him. And as a back four, you have to be organised.

On Harry Kane: “He’s a bit similar to Aubameyang. You try to limit the space. When we [Cardiff] played against them at the end of the season, I spoke with Pochettino and he said ‘I ask Harry Kane to drag you out to free the space behind you for the Dele Alli or Eriksen’. It’s a difficult one because he takes up very good positions. Very clever and difficult to mark.

On who’s tougher: “I would say Aubameyang because I know him personally and he’s going to hold it against me.”

Well, both Kane and Aubameyang will be tasked to produce the goods for their respective teams on Sunday in the North London derby.

Both players have found the back of the net this season, but it could be argued that Arsenal go into the match with a better frame of mind.

But Kane does have a very strong record when it comes to North London derbies, so he will be looking to add to that record at the weekend.
