Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Hugo Lloris, Sergio Aguero and Kevin de Bruyne all make the list, along with West Ham’s Payet.
The 29-year-old was seen as a major coup for West Ham when he joined the club from Marseille in 2015, but few could have predicted what an incredible season he would go on to have in East London.

Payet hit nine goals and 12 assists in the Premier League last season, whilst he’s already notched two goals and four assists in all competitions this term as he continues to dazzle Hammers fans.
Add in Payet’s superb performances for France at Euro 2016, where he racked up three goals and two assists in just seven appearances, and it’s been a quite remarkable 12 months for the playmaker.

Now, he’s been rewarded with a nomination for the Ballon d’Or, and whilst he isn’t expected to win the award, it’s suitable recognition for his displays over the last year.
After Payet was confirmed as a nomination for the award, team-mate Sofiane Feghouli sent a message to Payet on Twitter, stating ‘congratulations on your nomination’ as the plaudits again flood in for the West Ham star.
