The Hammers played out a 1-1 draw with Watford away from home at Vicarage Road in the Premier League.
Troy Deeney put the home team in the lead from the penalty spot after just three minutes, but Ayew restored parity for Slaven Bilic’s side on 73 minutes.
The Hammers ended the game with 10 men due to the sending-off of Michail Antonio in the 86th minute.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon, hosts Watford had 36% of the possession, took nine shots of which one was on target, and earned four corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors West Ham had 64% of the possession, took 13 shots of which two were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
