Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter in stunned fashion after watching a 21-second clip of Charlie Patino’s goal for the Under-21 side last night.

To just describe it as a ‘goal’ would be an injustice – it was an absolute wonder-strike.

The 17-year-old received a pass on the edge of the box, before taking one perfect touch to set himself for the shot, which rifled into the top-left corner.

Understandably, Arsenal fans on Twitter have been left open-mouthed.

Make no mistake, Patino isn’t just a highlights reel player who shows occasional flashes of brilliance.

According to the Guardian, Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of the Watford-born teenager, and even had him train with the first-team in September while the midfielder was just 16!

The Guardian also state that Patino has drawn comparisons to Jack Wilshere, although they believe he’s more like Manchester City starlet Phil Foden.

Furthermore, the Guardian say they anticipate a promotion to the Under-23 set-up by the end of the current campaign.
