Arsenal fans have raved about Yves Bissouma who produced a top-quality midfield display for Brighton on Saturday.
There has been a lot of talk about Bissouma this summer, including Arsenal being keen to sign him.
But at this moment in time, the deep-lying midfielder is dominating proceedings down at the South Coast.
Bissouma helped Brighton beat Watford 2-0 yesterday, as the combative and quick-footed technician walked away with the Man of the Match award.
Arsenal fans were in awe of what they saw from the 24-year-old, who dictated the game like he had a Playstation controller in hand.
The ease in which Bissouama plays the ball from deep, senses spaces, works the ball forward in tight situations and then showcases strong defensive stability, is a joy to watch for many supporters.
And when Arsenal fans have to watch their team crumble during the opening weeks of the season, it’s no surprise that the cries to want Bissouma signed up grow louder.
The Gunners have already signed Ben White from the Amex Stadium, so even if the Edu knocks on their door again, he will probably get the door slammed back in his face.
Brighton, after their perfect start to the season, won’t want to disrupt proceedings now because there is very little time left before the window slams shut.
That’s what perhaps annoys the Arsenal faithful that they didn’t push for Bissouma’s talents earlier enough.
And now it may just be a little late, especially if those teams much higher in the table come fishing for his ball-playing qualities next summer.
