Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had nothing but kind words to say about new arrival Jadon Sancho ahead of his potential Manchester United debut this weekend.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Solskjaer didn’t shy away from showering compliments down upon the summer signing from Borussia Dortmund.

United finally sealed Sancho’s signature after what felt like an eternity in a deal worth £73m (Sky Sports).

He will be hoping to hit the ground running this Saturday when the Red Devils host Leeds United in their Premier League curtain-raiser.

Old Trafford could bear witness to the England winger from the start on Saturday if Solskjaer feels he’s had enough preparation with the group.

Going by his latest comments, United’s manager is as excited as the fans to unleash Sancho.

“Jadon’s at the start of his career,” said the Norwegian coach.

“He’s still very experienced. Going to Dortmund as early as he did. He’s developed fantastically.

“He’s one of the most creative forwards in European football. He’s so smooth.

“Scores goals, creates goals. Very excited to see him and hopefully help him develop his career.”

Jadon the jewel

There is no doubt United have added one of the game’s most talented individuals to their squad.

In 137 appearances for Dortmund, the 21-year-old scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists.

Just to put that into context: Marcus Rashford has managed 88 goals and 56 assists in 271 matches for United.

Pairing the two international teammates should be a joy to watch when Rashford does return from his shoulder surgery.

For now, Sancho will have to fly the English flag alongside Mason Greenwood in attack, another who could thrive this season.

With the addition of Raphael Varane, Solskjaer’s side have an X-Factor feel that’s been missing in years gone by.

Combine the talents of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes, they are a forward force to be reckoned with.

Not to mention a solid defensive unit, thanks to the likes of Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Exciting times lie ahead for United fans, just as long as their noisy neighbours don’t come up trumps once again.
