Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to reveal they panicked after the club posted a three-word tweet about Sergio Reguilón.
What caused the scare?
Well, Tottenham’s tweet was actually pretty innocent.
It merely showed Reguilón flicking the ball over John Lundstram’s head in stylish fashion during the 3-1 win over Sheffield United.
However, it was captioned ‘Reggy said adiós’ which caused the panic.
Why? Well, as you may know, Real Madrid negotiated a buyback clause in the move which saw Reguilón join Spurs in a deal worth £27 million.

Evidently, some Tottenham fans initially thought the club were announcing the Spain international’s departure from north London.
Sadly, Tottenham supporters will have to live with this fear hanging over their heads for a bit longer.
Football London revealed back in the summer that this buyback clause can be activated either in the summer of 2021 or 2022.

On that note, misleading tweets such as this one will presumably continue to scare supporters until the clause expires.
It would be a real shame if Real Madrid did activate it.
Reguilón has shone since arriving in England, and has already amassed five assists for Spurs in just 20 appearances.
Let’s see what the Tottenham fans have been saying about the tweet…
