‘So scared’: Some Liverpool fans discuss Manchester City tweet on the Super League

Liverpool fans took to Twitter last night after Manchester City became the first club to officially withdraw from the European Super League.

After Chelsea fans staged a protest outside Stamford Bridge – which led to Petr Cech coming outside to talk to supporters – things started to change.

As we type, every Premier League club who was initially signed up for the elitist nonsense has now pulled out, and rightly so.

We’ll never forget that their names were on the list in the first place, however.

Sadly, Liverpool were among the last to pull out, something that the Anfield faithful won’t be too proud of.

Before Fenway Sports Group lost their nerve and followed suit, the Liverpool fans flocked to Manchester City’s statement to praise them.

One fan said ‘yes lads’ in praising the Citizens. Another described the statement as ‘magic’.

It really was a relieving sight, to say the least.

However, in our view, Manchester City don’t deserve any praise – neither do the rest of the big six who signed up for this embarrassment.

It’s like pushing an old lady over in the street and wanting praise for calling the ambulance.

Thankfully, the six clubs saw sense in the end, but their actions will never be forgotten by supporters.
