James McFadden has praised Leeds United defender Liam Cooper on BBC Sport for his goal against Bournemouth at Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Leeds have got the better of Bournemouth 4-3 at home in the league today.
Scotland international defender Cooper was among the goalscorers for the West Yorkshire club.
The £35,000-a-week (SalarySport) defender found the back of the net midway through the second half with a powerful header from a corner.
And former Everton forward and BBC Sport pundit McFadden was impressed.
Praise for Liam Cooper for Leeds United goal v Bournemouth
McFadden said: “It’s a first good ball from a set play for Leeds, something they can go and attack. Liam Cooper shows so much strength, high ball to the back post.
“He holds him man off and makes sure he gets a connection on that. You felt the momentum building for Leeds and they’ve now got control of this game.
“Goalkeeper, no chance of keeping it out, it’s through his legs. It’s too quick for him to try and adjust.
“Good connection with the header from Cooper, he asked a question of the keeper and he couldn’t answer it.”

Big win
In our view, the win for Leeds United against Bournemouth at Elland Road in the Premier League was massive.
Jesse Marsch’s side were not particularly great in the first half, but they stepped up their game in the second period.
Liam Cooper is a leader at the back, and the 31-year-old Scotland international defender took his goal extremely well.
While Cooper will be disappointed that Leeds shipped in as many as three goals against Bournemouth at home, he will be delighted – and relieved – that the team got the job done and picked up all three points from the game in the end.
