Some Arsenal fans on social media have been raving about Folarin Balogun after his cameo appearance against Manchester City on Tuesday evening.
The Gunners were soundly beaten by Pep Guardiola’s side, crashing out of the Carabao Cup after a 4-1 defeat, but there was at least one positive to take out of the game in the shape of Balogun.
The striker came on for Alexandre Lacazette in the 77th minute, and while he didn’t find the back of the net himself, he looked sharp and dangerous as soon as he came onto the pitch, making good runs and always looking for the ball.
Unfortunately, there was very little Balogun could do in the 13 minutes that he was on the pitch for as Arsenal were seemingly already consigned to defeat, but he did at least impress the supporters with his performance.
We can only hope that Mikel Arteta sees things in a similar way, as a player like Balogun is seemingly exactly what he needs right now as he desperately tries to navigate Arsenal away from the relegation battle they’re seemingly being dragged into.
