Don Hutchison has called on Everton to hire Graham Potter.

Potter’s Brighton & Hove Albion outfit battled to earn a 1-1 draw away to European champions Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Rafael Benitez’s job at Everton is far from secure.

The Spaniard secured the same result at Stamford Bridge before Christmas but the Toffees are still 15th in the Premier League table.

It’s entirely possible that the Goodison Park club will make a change from Benitez in the near future if results don’t improve massively.

And former Everton man Hutchison would love to see his old club go after Potter.

Brilliant?

That’s the word Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp used to describe the English boss a little earlier in the season.

And given that the Liverpool coach is one of Europe’s finest, having won the Champions League with the Anfield club in 2019, it’s very high praise.

It seems only a matter of time before Potter lands himself a much bigger job.

Speculation was rife last summer that he was offered the Tottenham role as Jose Mourinho’s successor and, more recently, Newcastle wanted him to replace Steve Bruce.

For now, he is a Seagull but long term you fancy him to get an elite job.
