Everton picked up their best result of the Premier League season on Saturday.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side welcomed Premier League title-challenging Chelsea to Goodison Park and sent the Londoners back to the capital with a 1-0 defeat.

A Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty on 21 minutes was enough to give Everton all three points.

But really, there was a lot more than just one hero in a blue shirt last night – and Allan was another.

The Brazilian midfielder flattered to deceive in the 1-1 draw against Burnley a week earlier.

But last night was a return to form for the former Napoli man, a £21 million signing this past summer.

There was no getting past Allan in Everton’s midfield last night – and here’s the mid-match tweet sent out by Yannick Bolasie about the 29-year-old.

It’s been an up and down first season on Merseyside for Allan, who had a brilliant start like many of his team-mates, before there was a bit of a lull, like many of his team-mates.

But the Toffees fans – and Ancelotti – will be hoping that his performance against Chelsea is the start of another spike in form.
