Valencia forward Yunus Musah has posted on Instagram that he is ‘so happy’ for Matt Turner after he completed his transfer to Arsenal on Monday.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper stated that his transfer to the English Premier League side is ‘maybe the worst kept secret ever’ and he is ‘grateful’ for the support, as he is now officially an Arsenal player.
Teenage star Musah was on Arsenal’s books a number of years ago and he is someone who is highly-rated in the game – he opted to leave the Emirates on his own accord, so he can play regular first-team football, which he is now doing in Spain.
Nonetheless, when Musah’s fellow countryman swapped MLS side New England Revolution for the Emirates Stadium, this is what he posted in the comments section of Turner’s IG post: ‘So happy for you, bro.’
IS TURNER LENO’S REPLACEMENT AT ARSENAL?
Aaron Ramsdale is the undisputed number one at Arsenal, with the former first-choice keeper, Bernd Leno now as a back-up to the England international.
It seems as though Leno could leave the club this summer, with newly-promoted Fulham showing interest in signing the German international.
If that’s the case, then upon Arsenal’s return to Europe, it opens the door for Turner to deputies Ramsdale at the Emirates.
Arsenal will be playing a lot more games next season, so Turner might find himself being thrown into the limelight for a number of matches.
And if he impresses, then the USA shot-stopper will only increase his reputation and popularity with the fans, as well as increase the number of minutes he gets out on the pitch.
