Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has posted on Instagram that he’s ‘so happy’ for Conor Coady after he sealed a move from Wolves to Everton on Monday night.

The former Liverpool player, who spent seven years at Wolves, has moved to Frank Lampard’s side on a season-long loan.

Bruno Lage has opted to switch to a back four this season, and as a result, he feels Coady isn’t part of his long-term plans, with young guns, Max Kilman and summer signing, Nathan Collins, the new faces at the back.

But what could be a possible loss for the Midlands side is certainly a gain for the Toffees, with club director, Kevin Thelwell, labelling the player as a ‘top-quality’ player, as posted on Everton’s website.

Nonetheless, when Coady’s move was signed, sealed and delivered on Monday night, he expressed that it is an ‘incredible feeling’ joining the club.

In the comments section, Villa’s ex-captain, Mings, posted in the comments section ‘so happy for you brother. Did they leave the coat hanger in on the second picture?” he joked.

COADY TO START AGAINST ASTON VILLA?

Both Aston Villa and Everton lost their opening Premier League games – Steven Gerrard’s side suffered an abject defeat to newly-promoted Bournemouth.

Whilst Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea saw off Everton at Goodison Park thanks to a Jorginho first-half penalty.

Now, with Coady through the doors and a full week of training ahead of him, could he make his debut at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon?

Ben Godfrey started the clash against Chelsea, but unfortunately, he suffered a horror ankle injury, which is set to keep him out for several months.

So, the door is open for Coady to start alongside James Tarkowski, whilst Mings might find himself on the bench again at the weekend, with Gerrard recently stripping him of the captaincy.
