Arsenal fans are buzzing after Gabriel Martinelli said that he should be back to fitness soon on the club’s official website.

Martinelli has been out of action for months now with a troublesome knee injury.

But the Arsenal youngster is starting to step up his recovery now, and the hope is that he will be back with Mikel Arteta’s squad by the end of the year.

“I’m feeling very well, I’m regaining confidence and I can feel my knee is better,” Martinelli said. “After an injury like this you are kind of scared to force the knee again but the past couple of weeks it has been fine and soon I can start training with the ball.”

The injury update has excited Arsenal supporters, who simply can’t wait to see the Brazilian in action again.

The excitement around Martinelli’s return is understandable as he had such a wonderful debut season for the Gunners.

Martinelli managed to reach double figures for goals, despite only having limited chances in their first-team.

There is a real expectation that the teenager could become a star in future years at the Emirates Stadium, and he should make them even more of an attacking threat.

Martinelli can play out wide or as a central striker, and should push the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah hard for their places when he does make it back to full fitness.
