Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to Todd Cantwell’s performance for Norwich City on Saturday.
The newly-promoted side suffered a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Carrow Road in their opening Premier League game of the new season.
But Villa fans were left impressed by what they saw from the energetic midfielder against the title challengers.
The English midfielder has been linked with several clubs this summer, including those at Villa Park.
Dean Smith has already snapped up a Norwich player during this transfer window when the Midlands side secured Emiliano Buendia’s talents.
And after watching Cantwell strut around the pitch yesterday, Villa fans want him to join Buendia in B6.
Cantwell has a swagger to his game that does catch the eye and he is someone who is very positive on the ball.
If Norwich are in a situation where they end up going straight back down then they will find it difficult keeping hold of their star playmaker.
But if they want to end this run of constantly earning promotion and following it up with relegation then Cantwell needs to stay put this summer.
With weeks remaining until the transfer window slams shut, it will be interesting to see if Villa push the boat out again for Cantwell after they suffered their own defeat to Watford yesterday.
