Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Petr Cech has been discussing Alisson and his fantastic performances for Brazil at the World Cup so far.
Cech was discussing who he believes have been some of the best goalkeepers at this tournament as we head into the quarter-final stage, and he said that Alisson is one player who has really impressed him.
The former Chelsea man says he’s had his eyes on Alisson for a while, stating that Wojciech Szczesny had told him about the goalkeeper during his time alongside the Brazilian at Roma.

Cech hails Alisson
The former goalkeeper spoke very highly of the Liverpool star.
“I think it comes from his natural personality as well, when you see him there is composure there is calmness. I remember when Wojciech Sczczesny went to Rome and he was with him there, and he said that he had this Brazilian guy on the bench who was so good and that everyone would know it. It didn’t take long. It’s nice to see when things go right and he’s had a big impact at Liverpool, and he’s been brilliant at the World Cup so far,” Cech said.
To be expected
Did anyone expect Alisson to be anything other than absolutely brilliant at this tournament?
This is one of the world’s best goalkeepers who has won every trophy available to him at club level. He was always going to shine in Qatar.
The only way that Alisson wouldn’t have been making an impact at this World Cup is if he was dropped, and with Ederson as his understudy, that is always a distinct possibility.
Luckily though, Alisson has managed to convince Tite that he should be his number one, and with the way Brazil are going, you wouldn’t back against them winning the whole thing.
