Speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, Jermaine Beckford has been speaking about Patrick Bamford’s performance against Manchester United.
Leeds were battered by United on Saturday, losing 5-1 at Old Trafford, and it’s fair to say Bamford didn’t have his best game.
The striker was barely involved in the play, and while Beckford said it was frustrating, he noted that the forward was making all of the right moves at Old Trafford.
What’s been said?
Beckford spoke about Bamford’s showing.
“It was so frustrating, he made all of the right moves, he was getting into the right areas. He showed bags of energy and lots of willingness to get into the spaces. It just didn’t come, the ball just didn’t come. The creativity on our part wasn’t there, and I don’t think the intensity levels are what we’ve become accustomed to in recent years. I put it down to first-game ring rust,” Beckford said.

Another big season
Bamford could be set for another big season at Leeds.
Yes, he failed to make an impact over the weekend, but as Beckford says, the right runs were being made, he was playing with energy and he was getting into space.
Luckily, Leeds won’t be playing Man United every week, and against weaker opposition, Bamford should get the chance to run riot.
There were certainly encouraging signs against the Red Devils.
