
Some Aston Villa fans on social media have been reacting to an important update on the club’s financial situation.
It has been an uncertain time for almost every football club over the past 12 months due to decreased revenues and ongoing issues due to the pandemic, but it seems as though Aston Villa are one club who have come up smelling of roses.
Of course, Villa’s finances aren’t as healthy as they would have been if they were able to have fans back in the stadium, but their owners are certainly looking after them.
Birmingham Live did an in-depth look at the club’s finances and they say that Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens have now pumped around £400 million into the club since buying their controlling stake back in the summer of 2018.
This includes a hefty cash injection of £87m in the past 12 months, which has helped fund signings such as Emi Martinez, Matty Cash, Ollie Watkins and most recently Morgan Sanson.
As you can imagine, Villa fans felt incredibly grateful to their owners for continuing to back them through this uncertain time and they were over the moon as the extent of their backing came to light.
