Some Arsenal fans on social media have been reacting to Fabrizio Romano’s transfer news regarding their pursuit of Tariq Lamptey.
Arsenal have long been linked with a move for the right-back, but the latest transfer news from the respected journalist indicates that they’re no longer interested in him.
Indeed, Romano says that Arsenal have a long list of targets at right-back, but Lamptey is no longer one of them.
Max Aarons and Emerson Royal have been named as two players who the Gunners could go for, but it seems as though Lamptey won’t be arriving in north London this summer.
As you can imagine, Arsenal fans had plenty to say about this transfer news, and it’s fair to say there was something of a mixed reaction.
Some fans were understandably disappointed, while others were a little more optimistic.
One fan was glad that the transfer saga was done early, while another questioned whether or not this information was reliable, claiming that Romano told a similar tale about Thomas Partey last summer before he eventually signed.
