Pundit Michael Dawson has criticised Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro for his mistake against Bournemouth in their latest 3-2 defeat.

The 23-year-old struggle to carry the ball out of danger, as it was pinched off him as Matias Vina eventually equalised for the Cherries.

Pundit Michael Dawson was left unimpressed by Tottenham Hotspur right wing-back Pedro Porro as his side succumbed to a loss to Bournemouth.

Pundit Michael Dawson slates Pedro Porro as Tottenham loss to Bournemouth

Largely, the Spaniard has been impressive during his time in N17, showcasing his pinpoint crossing, adventurous instincts going forward and silky technique.

However, Porro is known not to be the best defensively, as was on show during his forgettable debut against Leicester City and once again, his error-proneness came to light.

Pundit Michael Dawson, who used to play as a defender himself for Tottenham criticised Pedro Porro for his mistake against Bournemouth that cost his side after Son Heung-min’s initial opener.

“No wonder, he [Gary O’Neil] will be delighted! Sanchez playing on the right-hand side, Spurs give the ball away. Pedro Porro, so disappointed. Phil Billing, it then goes to Vina. What a finish!”, he said on Sky Sports.

“Hugo Lloris “Lloris comes out and from a tight angle, Vina dinks the ball over the goalkeeper and into the far corner. It’s a superb finish but Spurs will be so disappointed after losing the ball in a dangerous area.”

Porro must get rid of these avoidable mistakes in his game

There is no doubting that Porro is one hell of a talent and can go right to the very top in the game.

But as brilliant as Pedro Porro can be offensively, he must pull up his socks defensively, as pundit Michael Dawson is right to be ‘disappointed’ by his error for Tottenham against Bournemouth.

If the Spanish international does not manage to improve upon this trait, he will inevitability considered as a liability by future managers.
