Andros Townsend has given his take on the future of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane amid speculation that Manchester United and Real Madrid want to sign him in the summer transfer window.

The former Tottenham Hotspur winger has said on talkSPORT (6:25am, June 19, 2023) that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy does not want to sell Harry Kane to another club in the Premier League.

Townsend believes that Levy would rather the striker goes to Spanish and European giants Real Madrid for £100 million.

The winger thinks that Kane is desperate to become the all-time top scorer in the Premier League.

Marca have claimed that Spanish and European giants Real Madrid are keen on securing the services of the 29-year-old striker.

The Sun claimed last month that United have made Kane their “main summer transfer target” and are confident of securing his services in a £100 million deal.

Townsend said: “Sure, Daniel would say, ‘Look, you have been a great servant, go and join Real Madrid, go and win lots of trophies, give me £100 million and be done it with’, but because Harry is so desperate for that Premier League record, that’s where the sticking point is.”

What should Harry Kane do about Tottenham Hotspur future?

In our opinion, Harry Kane should not force a move out of Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

If Spurs chairman Daniel Levy does not sell the 29-year-old, then the striker should see out his contract at the North London club.

Kane will become a free agent at the end of next season.

And given that the striker is world class and is at the top of his game at the moment, he will get offers next summer as well, possibly for a lot more salary than now due to him costing nothing.
