BBC pundit Matt Holland lavished praise on to Kaoru Mitoma, who has been speculated with a summer transfer to either Arsenal or Newcastle United.

A claim was made in April that Eddie Howe’s side were discussing a move for the 25-year-old, while 90 Min linked Mikel Arteta’s men with a swoop for him.

Pundit Matt Holland was blown away by Arsenal and Newcastle United-linked wideman Kaoru Mitoma, who seems to be attracting transfer interest from across Europe.

Arsenal & Newcastle target Mitoma lauded by pundit Matt Holland

Two months ago, Fabrizio Romano had told CaughtOffside that for Brighton to consider selling the wizardly dribbler, they would demand a fee in excess of £35 million.

The Japanese international has taken breaths away from fans and pundits alike this season, with former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood once saying he “moves like [Gareth] Bale.”

As Arsenal and Newcastle hatch plots to complete a transfer for Kaoru Mitoma this summer, pundit Matt Holland sang his praises during Brighton’s 1-0 win over Manchester United.

“You can’t give Mitoma that amount of space in the opposition box, he’s so dangerous when he picks up possession and starts running at you”, he said on BBC Sport.

“Aaron Wan-Bissaka is too far away and stands off. Normally so composed in his finishing, this time, he rolls it wide.”

HITC View: Mitoma would be a blockbuster signing for both clubs

As pundit Matt Holland rightly pinpointed, Mitoma is ‘dangerous’ and could potentially even elevate both Arsenal and Newcastle, if a transfer to either club goes through.

At the Emirates Stadium, the former Union Saint-Gilloise technician has the potential to take over Gabriel Martinelli’s spot in the side, as his elite dribbling makes him such a useful threat against deep blocks.

On the other hand, Newcastle’s left-wing berth is one that requires upgrading anyway, with Anthony Gordon and Allan Saint-Maximin being the only natural options on the flank.

Especially if signed at a fee not significantly above £35 million, Kaoru Mitoma would be one hell of a coup.
