Jermain Defoe and Owen Hargreaves were full of praise for Chelsea and Newcastle United transfer target Leandro Trossard, who is ‘so consistent’ for Brighton.
Both Chelsea and Newcastle have been two of the biggest spenders in recent transfer windows and it seems they could be targeting the same player sooner rather than later.
Trossard is out-of-contract next summer, so any interested parties can secure his talents for nothing in less than 12 months.

Or, to get ahead of the chasing pack, you could put a fee on the table for him during the January transfer window, but would Brighton want to sell in the middle of the season?
Plus, as Chelsea found out with Marc Cucurella, you could get your man, but Brighton will always do it their way and their way only.
Nonetheless, former England duo Defoe and Hargreaves were full of praise for Trossard and they think ‘everybody is going to be after him’, as they told Premier League Productions.
“Trossard is on a free transfer in the summer,” said Hargreaves. “Everybody is going to be after him. He seems two-footed. He’s not worried about getting onto his favoured side – he has also produced with the goals of late.
Defoe added: “The amount of goals he scores, he’s so consistent and effective. It’s the hardest thing at that level to be consistent and put in those performances.
“He’s calm in front of the goal and his numbers are good.”

GRAHAM POTTER REUNION OR JOINING HIGH-FLYING NEWCASTLE?
Chelsea hold the advantage over Newcastle, at this moment and heading into January, because they have Champions League football.
But, after the Magpies beat Southampton 4-1 on Sunday, they are now sitting third in the Premier League table, chasing down Champions League football and six points ahead of Chelsea.
If the Magpies can continue their current stance up until the final ball is kicked in May, then they will have a serious edge over many teams during next summer’s transfer market.
