According to O Jogo, the Portuguese giants don’t have the funds to currently make the transfer permanent. However, Sporting could sign Pedro Porro from City for good if they progress in the UEFA Champions League this week.
The Primera Liga side are in a dire financial position. And Sporting won’t be able to afford to sign Pedro Porro if they fail to make the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
Indeed, this news presents an interesting twist of fate for Pedro Porro, who has flourished away from Manchester since joining Sporting on loan in 2020. With the likes of Real Madrid reportedly keen on the 22-year-old.
City could well decide to sell Pedro Porro in 2022 should the defender return to Manchester at the end of the season. However, the Spaniard could also act as a backup to Kyle Walker.
