Joelinton has become Newcastle United’s most expensive player of all time.
Newly-appointed Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has made his first signing.
Brazilian hitman Joelinton has joined the Magpies in a £40 million deal from Hoffenheim [BBC Sport].
In doing so, Bruce also broke Newcastle’s all-time transfer record to bring the 22-year-old to Tyneside.
The club’s official Twitter account released a video of Bruce and Joelinton meeting for the first time – and some fans of the St James’s Park club were cringing.
The video shows Bruce visiting the big striker before or after an interview, before smiling and asking Joelinton about his English and making a joke about his hair.

To be fair, Bruce wasn’t a popular appointment among Newcastle fans, but he came across as a nice guy in the interview nonetheless.
That being said, the Magpies supporters won’t care about his personality if he doesn’t win games.
The former Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland and Aston Villa boss has the second-lowest win percentage of any manager with over 250 Premier League games under their belts.
