Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter in disbelief after Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville both named their Team of the Season last night.

What has stunned the Liverpool fans? Well, both Sky Sports pundits left Mohamed Salah out of their teams, which is simply baffling.

The Egypt international has scored 20 Premier League goals in 33 appearances this season, while also recording four assists.

Salah is just one goal behind Harry Kane in the scoring ranks, so there’s every chance that he wins his third Premier League Golden Boot.

Add in the fact that he’s scored his goals in a struggling Liverpool side this term, and there is no way that the 28-year-old can be left out.

It really is amazing that Salah wasn’t even named in one XI last night.

In particular, Carragher’s decision to leave Liverpool’s No.11 out is upsetting.

As a supporter of the Reds, you would’ve expected him to appreciate Salah’s efforts this season more than most.

Somehow, Phil Foden made it into Carragher’s XI instead.

Now, we love Foden, and it’s abundantly clear that he’s a phenomenal footballer.

However, the 20-year-old has only started 15 Premier League games this season, scoring seven goals.

Carragher’s decision to include him reeks of recency bias, as Foden has only recently delivered some jaw-dropping displays against Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

A Team of the Season without Salah just doesn’t make sense.

The former Chelsea man is one of the best forwards in Europe, let alone England’s top-flight – he is so under appreciated.

Let’s see how the Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted to Carragher and Neville both leaving Salah out last night…
