Mikel Arteta has shared that Emile Smith Rowe will be back in Arsenal training today, as he told Wednesday’s pre-match press conference.

Arsenal take on Olympiacos in a crucial first-leg Europa League showdown on Thursday night, knowing that a defeat will set them back ahead of a crucial ten or so days for the club.

Therefore, it’s brilliant news for the Arsenal faithful that Smith Rowe is back to boost their attacking line.

This is what Arteta had to say about Smith Rowe’s return to Arsenal training.

“He’s close to returning,” said Smith Rowe. “He’s going to have a full session today to see if he can be involved in tomorrow’s game, so after training, we will know exactly where we are with him.”

More than likely, Smith Rowe won’t start tomorrow but he will bulk up Arsenal’s bench if he comes through today’s training session.

Plus, it’s the little matter of a North London derby on Sunday, which Smith Rowe could start if Arteta opts to rotate amid the heavy fixture schedule.

Whilst Smith Rowe didn’t start the campaign, he has managed to break through as the season has progressed and has become a key member of this Arsenal side craving for young talent to push them forward.
