Somebody has probably now lost count on the number of Liverpool players in the treatment room.
From Virgil van Dijk to new boy Ozan Kabak, it seems as though Roberto Firmino has joined his Liverpool teammates on that dreaded table.
Prior to Liverpool’s defeat against Fulham today, the club’s official Twitter account posted that Firmino had a ‘minor knock’ hence his absence from the squad.
Liverpool supporters just cannot believe their luck because it seems before every game and after every game, a player is ending up on the sidelines.
It has well and truly destroyed the confidence of the champions, who have now remarkably lost six Premier League home games on the bounce.
A selection of the Anfield faithful have questioned the club’s medical staff, whilst others ask just how long Firmino will be out for.
Will it be a case of Firmino returning for the Champions League next week or is this another Liverpool player out for a longer period than expected?
Either way, it’s more depressing news for those on Merseyside, who are watching a team that is a shadow of the one that dominated for so many years in England’s top-flight.
Perhaps Champions League success can lift their mood, but as things stand, the current holders are heading for a finish outside of the top-four.
