Should Thomas Christiansen bench the Leeds United ace again?

Michael Appleton got his reign as caretaker manager of the Premier League club off to a great start at the weekend by masterminding a 2-1 win away to Swansea City.
Facing the Foxes is trickier now than it was, say, under Craig Shakespeare but Leeds – who knocked Burnley out of the previous round – have a big job if they want to follow up their top-flight scalp with another.
United boss Thomas Christiansen has plenty of options in attack, but one man who could and perhaps should sit this one out is Kemar Roofe.
The 24-year-old does, to his credit, have four goals in the competition – one against Port Vale and a hat-trick against Newport County – but tomorrow he would be coming up against a man who knows all about him.
Appleton signed Roofe for Oxford United back in 2014 and sold him for £3 million two years later following a goal-laden stint in League Two under the 48-year-old.
With that in mind, you could argue that Appleton knows the former West Brom man inside out and he is surely at a major advantage when it comes to plotting ways in which to silence Roofe, an unused sub on the weekend.
He has struggled against Championship defences during his time in the second tier, and there is precious little to suggest he would pull up trees against a side who won the Premier League close to 18 months ago – especially with Appleton’s knowledge of him.
