Well, Frank Lampard looks set to miss out on the Rangers job after already being snubbed by Aston Villa last week.

Rangers are on the hunt for a new manager after losing Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa.

The Sun have this morning reported that the Villans interviewed Gerrard’s former England teammate but chose the former Gers boss instead.

And with the Ibrox club set to hire Giovanni van Bronckhorst despite linked to Lampard, the 43-year-old isn’t having much luck getting a job right now after Chelsea sacked him last year.

But Lampard is reportedly eyeing another job and if he gets it, he’ll have the last laugh over Rangers and Aston Villa.

Last laugh

According to Eurosport, he is keeping one eye on potentially replacing Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City, amid speculation of the latter going to Manchester United.

Questions were raised when Rodgers left Celtic for the Foxes but there’s no doubt that it was a step forward in his career, evident by the fact he’s being linked to the Old Trafford post now.

Rangers are a huge club, as are Aston Villa, but this Leicester side – who finished fifth two years running – are among the Premier League’s big six.

And you could certainly make an argument that following Rodgers at the King Power is bigger than following Gerrard or Dean Smith at Ibrox or Villa Park respectively.

As of right now, the Leicester job is bigger and if Lampard does wind up getting it, he can afford to give the other two clubs’ hierarchies a cheeky thank you for rejecting him.
