Some Arsenal fans have responded to Sokratis Papastathopoulos’s post on Twitter after he played against the Everton Under-23 side on Friday.

Sokratis made his first appearance for Arsenal this season, as he lined up for the Under-23 side against their Everton counterparts at the Emirates Stadium.

As reported by Football.London, the 32-year-old central defender has not been included in the Gunners’ Premier League or Europa League squad by manager Mikel Arteta.

The Greece international was delighted to have featured for the Arsenal Under-23 side, and some fans of the North London club have responded to his post on Twitter, as shown below.

Encouraging

Sokratis must be disappointed not to be part of the Arsenal senior side at the moment, and it is very encouraging to see him turn out for the Under-23 team.

It would help the veteran defender to maintain his match sharpness if he is to leave Arsenal for a new club in the January transfer window.

The former Borussia Dortmund star may not be deemed good enough to play for the Arsenal first team at the moment by Arteta, but he can certainly turn out for other top clubs.
