Robert Snodgrass continued to make a major impact for Aston Villa last night as he set up both of his side’s goals in the 2-1 victory at home to Sunderland.
Snodgrass endured a torturous time after joining West Ham United in January but since making the switch to Villa on loan the Scotsman has provided a reminder of the talent that he possesses.
Last night Snodgrass set up goals for Albert Adomah and Josh Onomah, which was sufficient for Villa to take all three points despite Lewis Grabban later finding the net for Sunderland.
Villa are in fourth place in the Championship, with promotion, at least via the play-offs, now appearing a genuine possibility.
Manager Steve Bruce will need to get the most out of the players at his disposal, especially with Jonathan Kodjia set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and Snodgrass can be a hugely important figure for Villa in their quest to return to the top flight.
Capable of delivering dangerous crosses with regularity and a goal threat himself, Snodgrass could prove to be a very useful player for Villa this campaign.
Snodgrass’ ultimate aim is undoubtedly to get back playing in the Premier League again and there could well be a possibility that he could fulfil that objective by joining Villa permanently after helping them to earn promotion.
