Speaking to GiveMeSport, Dean Jones has shared what he knows about Arsenal and their hunt for a new attacker.
To say that the Gunners are in the market for a new forward would be accurate. They’ve been chasing a winger since the summer, while the idea of signing a new striker has come onto the table since an injury to Gabriel Jesus.
Arsenal seemingly need a winger and a striker, so why not sign a player who can do both?
Indeed, Barcelona’s Ferran Torres is a player that can adequately play both roles, and according to Jones, Arsenal are fans of the former Manchester City man.

Arsenal like Torres
Jones shared what he knows about this situation.
“They really like Ferran Torres, and they clearly believe he might become available because they inquired about him in the summer as well,” Jones said.
“So, if they’re sniffing around him again now, they sense that something’s up.”
Gettable
It’s never easy to sign a Barcelona player who has a €1bn release clause in their contract, but there is a feeling that Torres could be signed in January.
Indeed, Barcelona have plenty of depth up top with the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Robert Lewandowski, Ansu Fati and Raphinha all currently at the club, so selling Torres may not be out of the question – especially amid their current financial difficulties.
As for Arsenal, this has the makings of a brilliant signing. Torres perfectly fits what Arteta wants, a young, hungry talented player, and he could plug two key gaps within this squad.
Keep an eye on this situation as January rolls around.
